SOPHISTICATED ITALY DEPOSIT/CANCELLATION POLICIES
FIT’s, Tours and Transfers
A 30% deposit is required to confirm bookings. Final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival in Italy. If for any reason the trip is cancelled 21 days before arrival, there is a $100 per person penalty. There is no refund for cancellations 14 days before the dates of the service(s).
Villa and Apartment Rentals
Advanced rental deposit of between 30-40% of the total sum of the rental is payable upon booking and signing of the contract. Balance is due 75 days prior to the first day of the rental period. This deposit requirement may vary due to an individual owner’s own policy.
Should rentee request to be released from a signed contact, he or she must notify Sophisticated Italy in writing (by e-mail, fax or registered letter). Rentee agrees to the following cancellation charges:
Cancellation 90 days before arrival date of rental period, deposit is retained by Sophisticated Italy and the villa owner.
Cancellation 89 to 60 days prior to the rental period, 50% of total amount of rental is retained by Sophisticated Italy and the villa owner.
Cancellation 59 days prior to arrival, 100% of total amount of rental fee is retained by Sophisticated Italy and the villa owner.
Deposit of 35% of the total cost is due at the time of booking. This will be billed in US dollars at the exchange rate of the day plus 2 US cents.
Balance is due 60 days prior to arrival of the group.
Between 46–60 days, 25% of total due is kept by Sophisticated Italy
30–45 days, 50% of total is kept by Sophisticated Italy
30 days or less: no refund
No exceptions to these terms and conditions will be made and we strongly recommend that clients secure appropriate insurance.
No changes can be made once clients are in Italy.
Limits on Sophisticated Italy’s responsibility
Claims. No claim will be considered unless an e-mail Notice of claim is received by Sophisticated Italy within 3 weeks of the completed service. No refund will be made for unused services once travel in Italy has begun.
Limits to Sophisticated Italy’s Responsibility:
Sophisticated Italy has made travel arrangements as an intermediary for suppliers of services connected with the travel arrangements, all of which are independent contractors. Sophisticated Italy in no way owns or operates the vehicles or facilities to be used for these travel arrangements and assumes no responsibility for the negligent acts and/or omissions of these independent contractors, their employees, agents or representatives.
Collection of information
When you inquire about travel services, we may ask you to provide us with personal information—client’s mailing address, e-mail address or other personal identifying information. We may need this information to contact you and/or your clients in order to answer queries, process travel arrangements and to share this information (names particularly) with our suppliers in Italy. Any information you provide Sophisticated Italy will be used for that purpose only.
Sophisticated Italy has taken strong measures to protect the security of your personal information and to ensure that your uses for its intended use are honored. We take strong precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. The importance of security for all personal information associated with our clients is of utmost concern to us. Unfortunately no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result while we strive to protect your personal information, Sophisticated Italy cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your data, we make our best effort to ensure its security.
