Shopping in Milan

We offer two shopping programs—one combining the best in both Florence and Milan, the other dedicated just to Milan—for small groups of dedicated shoppers. These programs are always combined with good eating and sightseeing of Italy's incomparable art treasures so that these trips really are memorable ones.

FIRST DAY (Wednesday)

Arrival Milano/Malpensa. Met by our Sophisticated Italy representative followed by private transfer to Milan in small deluxe bus. Check in to your hotel. Afternoon walking tour of Milan’s Golden Triangle—Via della Spiga,Via Sant’Andrea and Via Montenapoleone, accompanied by our special fashion hostess.

SECOND DAY (Thursday)

Breakfast in hotel. Day dedicated to a “whirlwind” shopping tour of Milan’s fashion outlets and other specially chosen stores for leather goods, jewelry and clothes.

THIRD DAY (Friday)

Breakfast in hotel. This is “Cashmere Trail” day. Accompanied by our hostess, visits will be made—all in private deluxe coach—to the Loro Piana Factory boutique and the Agnona outlet store. Lunch at an excellent trattoria near the Loro Piana store. Evening free.

FOURTH DAY (Saturday)

Accompanied by Sophisticated Italy representative and hostess, a visit will be made to Milan’s largest outdoor clothing and accessories market on Viale Papiniano—famous for its “dropped off the truck” bargains. Rest of afternoon and evening free.

FIFTH DAY (Sunday)

Breakfast in hotel. Morning tour of the newly-restored Last Supper, followed by walking tour of Milan’s highlights—the Duomo, the Galleria, and Piazza della Scala. Afternoon visit to the Ambrosiana library and the Poldi Pezzoli museum.

SIXTH DAY (Monday)

Breakfast in hotel. Leave for shopping in the Lake Como area to the silk, shoe and handbag outlets. Lunch on own. Return to Milan to visit a famous contemporary furniture designer and several contemporary art galleries. Evening farewell dinner at Rigolo’s, a favorite of journalists and the fashion world for many years.

SEVENTH DAY (Tuesday)

Breakfast in hotel. Private departure to Malpensa for flight home.
