Villa Terrae
Villa Terrae is located 1 km walking distance from Gaiole in Chianti, a small town with stores and restaurants. The property has been in the family of the current owner for generations. It is a wonderful villa situated on a hillside above the road to Siena, and provides beautiful views of vineyards and the Chianti hills. If has a well-maintained garden and a large swimming pool (6x12 m), a delightful place to enjoy the lovely views. In the grounds, ideal for a large family, there is also a “bocce” (Italian bowling) court and a small field for playing soccer.

This villa is ideal for exploring Chianti and Tuscany. It is right in the heart of Chianti near vineyards and olive groves. Florence is 55 km away; Siena is 25 km; and San Gimignano can be reached in 45 min. (50 km).
The Main house (sleeps 12-10 adults and 2 children in children’s room).The main house has the genuine feel of a traditional Tuscan country villa, with high ceilings and large rooms. The main floor was renovated in 2000; on this floor there is a nice sized entrance hall, which leads to a very large living room with fireplace .It opens on to the garden. The dining room is large enough to accommodate 16 people . The kitchen is extremely large and very well-equipped, with an original country fireplace and a vaulted brick ceiling done in an interesting pattern. All of the appliances are new. Near the large and very comfortable living room is a bedroom for two with an ensuite bathroom (with tub).

The first floor is reached by a flight of old stone steps. On this floor there is another large sitting room with a fireplace, antique furniture, oriental rugs and ceiling-high bookcases. There are five bedrooms on this floor, one of them with an ensuite bathroom with shower. The other bedrooms share two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bathtub and hand-shower. One of the bedrooms is considered a children’s room as it has 3 single beds. They are all comfortably furnished in traditional Italian style.

The Villa has its own garden area to the side of the house away from the Dependence for eating and sitting outside. From this area there are lovely views to the countryside. There is also a barbeque. The villa is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, telephone, and Satellite TV (also in English) in the downstairs living room. There is a pool on the grounds as well as two outlying cottages sleeping another 4 people (available for larger groups).
