This four-hour tour features the highlights of this fascinating, chaotic city. It includes the National Archaeological Museum, one of the richest museums in the world for Greco-Roman antiquities, particularly from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Then on to the National Gallery (Capodimonte Palace), with its important collection of Italian and European paintings. Finally a walk around the heart of Old Naples (Spaccanapoli), the most fun part of the city. We recommend tasting a pizza (in its birthplace) at the end of the tour.

This several hour visit is an opportunity to see the extensive and varied ruins of this buried city, destroyed in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. One can still see the remains of an opulent life in this very successful commercial center which existed at the height of the Roman Empire. A must visit in this area!

This Roman town, less important than Pompeii, was also destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. A mass of volcanic mud sealed wood and other materials unlike Pompeii, which was burned by hot cinders. The ruins here are much more intact. One gets an excellent sense of what life was like in the Roman Empire, visiting the baths (in excellent condition), the theater, a series of patrician villas, as well as splendid columns, frescoes and mosaics.

The start of this fabulous day begins at 9:00 a.m. where your guide will accompany you on the hydrofoil. Capri is compared to a stage setting for an operetta with its small piazzas, small houses and Moorish alleyways! Your tour begins when you arrive at the port where you board your private motorboat to cruise along Capri’s dramatic coastline, visiting its famous grottos as well as the Faraglioni rock formations. During the summer you will even be able to take a swim in one of the shimmering bays followed by a delicious lunch (to be paid on the spot) in Marina Piccola, a small bay with beautiful beaches, charming restaurants and a haven for fishing boats. Your private taxi will take you to Anacapri where you will visit Villa San Michele, originally a Roman Imperial villa that was re-built at the end of the nineteenth century. Your taxi will take you back to Capri where you have a walking tour, which includes Piazza Umberto (Piazzetta) and the Gardens of Caesar Augustus with its magnificent trees and flowers. The view is spectacular, with dramatic cliffs jutting out and hanging over the sea. Enjoy the small streets with their charming houses and villas, and the perfume factory which uses methods developed by Carthusian monks in the twelfth century. You can even buy perfume with the flower scent of your birthday. At 5:00 p.m. your guide will take you by private taxi back to the port for your return trip by hydrofoil to the Positano dock.
