Milan with Style

Style and elegance—the two words most commonly used to describe Milan, the cosmopolitan financial, fashion and industrial capital of Italy. Many believe that Milan is Europe's capital of fashion and design—certainly it is one of the world's top two or three centers of fashion, design, style and art. From furniture to fashion, Milan is "it"! Milan has been traditionally shunted aside as a tourist destination but in the last several years it has seen a resurgence as a place to visit, assisted by the opening of several new luxury hotels. It has become the destination for savvy travelers interested in excellent eating, the latest in fashion and design and Italy's best shopping. Therefore, as long time residents of this wonderful city, we have decided to expand our tourist offerings to satisfy your needs. We propose the following itineraries for the Milan visitor.

MILAN’S DISCOUNT OUTLETS (half or full day)

Aren’t we all bargain-hunters? Our experienced shopping hostesses will take you for the best of “Made in Italy” at the various discount outlet stores (both for men and women) which now dot Milan. Some of these are “one label” discount centers—others are top fashion stock houses selling the current season’s production at cut-throat prices. In all, your dollar will go far in buying the latest in Italian fashions at fabulous prices.

On the last Sunday of each month the Milan antique market takes place in the charming “Naviglio” area (the old “canal” part of the city). Our antique experts will take you to visit this market which is considered one of Europe’s top flea and antique markets. They will escort you through the maze of stalls, full of authentic antiques mixed in with bargains and finds. For real antique and bric-a-brac lovers this market is an absolute must!

We have made arrangements with a well-know Italian travel and style journalist to give private cooking lessons, either on an individual or small group basis, in her charming townhouse. Lessons will be dedicated to “primi piatti” (pastas of course), main courses and desserts.
Our teacher will use the same recipes she successfully uses in her active entertaining life. Of course lunch will be included after the lesson.

Our sophisticated style experts are prepared to escort you on a tour of those unknown art, artisan and antique shops, tucked in Milan’s small streets and little neighborhoods where you can find the most interesting and perhaps best buys for those of you looking for decorating items, special fabrics and antiques to give your home that special European touch.
